A coach has taken us up the hill where a guide was waiting for us to explain not only the story of the building and its meaning, but also a lot of Spanish History that has to do with the monastery. The monastery is empty at the moment but it was San Millán the first hermit to live there
Then we have visited Yuso Monastery where the precious books are kept and considered the birthplace of modern written and spoken Spanish language as well as the first testimonies of the Vasc language.
We have then driven to nearby Santo Domingo de la Calzada a landmark on the Camino de Santiago, The Way to Santiago.
The students from the IES Camino de Santiago have shown us the town. Then we have had luch at their school. It has been a great lunch and a great day!!!!
