Bob Dylan's become of age!!!

Can you believe it?

Bob Dylan just turned 75!

He has celebrated his birthday, but he has done it on  stage:  The never ending tour

Bobby Zimmerman was born in North country, that is in Duluth Minnesota.  He changed his last name to Dylan to honour Welsh poet Dylan Thomas.

Like a Rolling Stone was the turnning point not only in his career but in modern music.  When on stage he changed his acoustic guitar for his stratocaster guitar the music world tumbledown.  Here you can watch the electrical controversy at the Royal Albert Hall in London. It was 1965.

Would you like to know more about Bob Dyland, the most influential song writer and musician of modern times?

Check his lyrics, his poetry, his awards , his social commitment, his world tours, his list of friends . . .

His covers go from Guns and Roses, to Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Mark Kpnofler, Pearl Jam, Kiko Veneno,  Adele, Jhonny Cash, Eric Clapton . . . . Pretenders, Patty Smith ....   Listen Rolling Stones magazine

The Fanky, the ONE and Only Prince is gone!

PRINCE is gone!!!!

It was last Thursday that PRINCE the musical icon died unexpectedly .  It was PRINCE , the Fanky, the ONE and Only!

We are not aware of how important and great some people in our everyday life are, until they dissapear for good!

Prince was a great musician, a great person and a great showman!

We are lucky we can still enjoy some of his work and music!!!

He was a pioneer ! A visionary!  He knew what was important and fought for it!

There are many legendary moments from the singer-songwriter's career worth watching and remembering in tribute after his passing. And one of them is NFL-related, with Prince absolutely tearing down the house at Super Bowl XLI in what may be the greatest halftime performance ever.

A more serious Prince can be watched in this 2013 insparing interview.

Shakespeare's legacy! 400 years of Shakespeare!!! Let's Celebrate it!!!

A 400 year legacy of a life’s work in the arts!

Today, the 23rd of April 2016, we commemorate 400 years since the death of the great playwright William Shakespeare. From comedy to history, tragedy to sonnet, there is no doubting the influence Shakespeare has had on the literary world.

There’s no need to head for The Globe this weekend, we can have the very best of Shakespeare, classic and contemporary, his life and works just a click away!!!

But we, at Sagasta, are certainly celebrating it our own way!!! Our 1st IB students have done a superb job and prepared a handmade book for everybody to read. They have paid special attention to the following points:

  • 1. Shakespeare
  • 2. Elizabethan Theatre
  • 3. Romeo and Juliet
  • 4. The Tempest
  • 5. Richard III
  • 6. A Midsummer Night's Dream

Please, have a look!

We have even tried to speak as Shakespeare did!

The Globe and Shakespeare´s pronounciation, David Crystal gives a more sophisticated explanation of how Shakespeare spoke and explains how the OP, Original Pronounciation works, and how much we are loosing of Shakespeare texts if we listen to them in Modern English pronounciation.

We have a little bit of everything here!
What about some insults by Shakespeare???

From Fishmonger to Bite your thumb!

Let´s finish with some very famous Shakespeare´s quotes:

Romeo and Juliet
1. What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other word would smell as sweet.
(2.2.45-6), Juliet

2. A plague o' both your houses!
They have made worms' meat of me!
(3.1.95-6), Mercutio
By any other word would smell as sweet.

2. A plague o' both your houses!
They have made worms' meat of me!

2. Now is the winter of our discontent
Made glorious summer by this sun of York.

The Tempest

thee, my dear one, thee, my daughter, who
art ignorant of what thou art, naught knowing
of whence I am, or that I am more better
Than Prospero, master of a full poor cell,
And thy no greater father."
thee, my dear one, thee, my daughter,

Than Prospero, master of a full poor cell,
And thy no greater father."
